Thorsten Schulz-WaldenToday, environmental security is a socially compelling issue. As a historian, the author shows that the connection between environment and security did not originate with the end of the Cold War. Rather, environmental concerns related to security policy were already evident in 1970. Then as now, international environmental problems that transcend borders have challenged political demarcations while demanding new solutions.
